Create an MTL League

What is MTL?

MTL is a season-long, commissioner style, pick'em game with a twist: We use a teaser parlay format with teased lines to create a unique and exciting game!

MTL is fast and simple each round, no huge time commitment.

  • Pick 4 teams using the MTL Spread for each pick.
  • Win for the round by covering all 4 picks, just like a parlay.
  • Miss 1 pick and lose for the round. Miss 2 or more picks and incur a penalty on top of the loss.
  • Every round, each losing team concedes to each winning team the number of MTL Points set by the Commissioner.
  • Every round is a new opportunity to make four picks and move up in the standings.

How To Play

Read through the quick starter below or checkout the Detailed MTL Gameplay, NFL Rules , CFB Rules , NCAA Men's Conf. Tourney Rules , March Madness Rules.

Here’s how it works:

01

Start a league.

Commissioners are king, they get their MTL registration fee WAIVED (up to $50 value). Invite a group of friends and start a league today. 20 or more teams is best but leagues are still fun with as few as 10 teams.

New users get 50% off their first registration!

02

Make your picks every round.

Every round pick 4 teams using the MTL Spread for EACH pick. MTL Spread is the published spread +13 points for NFL, +15 for NCAA football or +11 for NCAA basketball.A team gets all these teaser points in its favor on EACH pick but in exchange, the team must cover all 4 picks, like a parlay.

Cover all 4 picks and win for the round. Don’t cover or push 1 or more picks, it's a loss for the round.

03

Win or Lose MTL Points.

Every round, each losing team concedes to each winning team the number of MTL Points set for the league. Suppose there is a league with 25 teams playing for 20 MTL Points, this means there are 500 MTL Points up for grabs every round. If 10 teams win and 15 teams lose, the winning teams gain 300 MTL Points. The losing teams lose 200 MTL Points.

04

Avoid the penalty pot.

If you miss more than 1 pick in a round, there is a penalty assessed. This helps break ties in the standings and provide a penalty for teams that make awful picks! The Penalty Pot will be distributed as additional MTL points to the league's top teams, or however the Commissioner sees fit, at the end of the season.

MTL offers a Standard Penalty Pot or a Progressive Penalty Pot, see detailed gameplay or rules.

05

Check the standings.

MTL Points accumulate over the entire season. With 25 teams and 20 MTL Points, the biggest winner should win about 2,200 MTL Points and the biggest loser should lose about 2,200 MTL Points and the rest of the league will fall in between with half the league winning and half losing. This is based on historical averages and the overlapping nature of team’s picks but anything can happen!
