Everything you need to know about Monster Teaser League
The name Monster Teaser League packs a punch, combining two core ideas to deliver maximum excitement:
"Monster Teaser"
In sports betting, a "teaser" lets you adjust the point spreads in your favor, making it easier to win each individual game. A "monster teaser" takes that to the next level: you're shifting the odds by a huge number of points across multiple games. The catch? You've got to nail every single pick to win big. It’s high-stakes, high-reward action!
"League"
We've blended this "monster teaser" concept with a league-style competition. This isn't just about individual bets; it's about going head-to-head with other players, climbing the ranks, and proving you're the ultimate handicapper. It’s the thrill of monster action combined with ongoing competition and bragging rights.
Together, Monster Teaser League means intense betting action, strategic gameplay, and fierce competition—all rolled into one electrifying experience.
A teaser bet is like a special kind of bet where you get to change point spreads or totals in your favor. Think of it as getting a head start! You're "teasing" the lines to make it easier for your chosen teams to cover the new, adjusted spread, or for the game to go over or under the new, adjusted total.

| 3 Team | 10 | 10 | 8 | 8 |
| 2 Team | 6 | 6 | 5 | 5 |
MTL is a season-long, commissioner-run, points-based league where participants make picks against adjusted spreads (MTL Spreads) each week or round. To win a round, you must cover all your picks; missing even one results in a loss. Every round, losing teams concede MTL Points to winning teams, with standings tracked throughout the season for ultimate bragging rights.
All leagues are managed by a commissioner, who determines settings and rules with the help of the MTL Head Commish. An MTL League size is flexible (minimum 2 teams, no maximum), but 20–50 teams is considered ideal for competition and risk balance. Commissioners can adjust league size and set MTL Points to manage risk and expectations.
MTL Points are the unit of competition, set by the commissioner, and represent the stakes for each round. Points won and lost accumulate over the season and determine league standings. The MTL platform tracks all points on a Standings page in the MTL Platform.
Each round, participants select a set number of teams to cover against the MTL Spread (the official spread plus a set number of MTL points, which varies by league and round). The number of picks and teaser points may change during playoffs or tournament rounds, often decreasing as the number of available games decreases. Over/Under (O/U) picks become available in later rounds or when there are fewer games to pick from.
To win a round, you must cover all your picks against the MTL Spread. Missing or pushing (tying) even one pick results in a loss. Losing teams concede MTL Points to winners, and all points are tracked over the course of a season using the MTL platform (see “Standings”)
The deadline for submitting your picks is each game's scheduled start time. If you don't submit the required number of picks by this deadline, it counts as a loss and might result in a penalty fee. We can't make exceptions for late or missed picks. However, you can still submit picks for later games if there are enough remaining to meet your requirement. You're able to edit or change your picks right up until the game's scheduled start time.
The Penalty Pot penalizes teams that fail to cover multiple picks in a round. Points in the Penalty Pot are distributed to top finishers at season end, usually by a set percentage split. The structure is customizable by the commissioner.
The league commissioner has full authority to set, modify, or establish new rules as needed. Once communicated, their decisions are final.
Yes, all MTL leagues are for entertainment purposes only. MTL Points have no cash value and may not be traded or used for gambling. MTL reserves the right to investigate and remove users suspected of gambling activity.

Official rules are available on the MTL website’s rules page.
The MTL Platform is built on a Progressive Web Application that differs from downloading an App in the Apple or Android stores. The PWA method still affords the same functionality as a traditional app but makes development and updates much faster.
You'll use your cell phone number to log into the MTL Platform; we'll text you a code. Once you're in, you can set a password in your Account Settings if you'd prefer to log in that way next time.
We suggest anywhere from 20-50 teams. If you have more teams more is at stake so you may want to adjust the points/dollars for wins/losses in order to create a league that has the risk/reward that you want.
It depends on your MTL league size and the MTL Points your Commissioner determines. Please visit the MTL Risk Estimator here.
At the end of an MTL Season, your league settles up. We offer tools to help you calculate payouts among members, or your Commissioner may handle that process themselves.
Once the game kicks off/tips off you will be able to see all the players that are on the team for that round of games.
MTL Head Commish will always do their best to adjust to any rescheduled game dates. For NFL and NCAA Football, this usually happens due to severe weather like hurricanes or snowstorms, causing games to be moved later in the week. These adjustments are typically predicted, giving us advance notice. In the rare event of a last-minute cancellation, we'll contact you to select an alternate available game.
MTL Gameday Live offers real-time scoring and a clear breakdown of MTL teams on each game. Its color-coding quickly shows which MTL teams in your league are winning, losing, or at risk of not covering.

The lines are locked once released, which varies by MTL Season.
No. For the most part all leagues operate on the concept of a 4 team teaser. As the season comes closer to an end the amount of games available decreases. So in order to accommodate a fair chance of winning with enough options to choose from we switch to a 3 teamer, a 2 teamer and even a straight bet at the end of the season.
Over/Unders are added to later rounds as the season progresses or when the number of available games become fewer.
